The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center proudly held its 26th annual Lehigh Valley Pride festival.

This year’s festival was held from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley at 702 N. 22nd St., Allentown, PA.

“Pride is a celebration of the arts, culture, history, and rights for the LGBT community,” Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center Executive Director Adrian Shanker said. “We are excited to welcome our community to join us in this milestone celebration for the LGBT movement.”

The day’s events ranged from drag queen story hour to Drag Bingo, which benefits Fighting AIDS Continuously Together (FACT). There were also performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race celebrities, live art making competitions at one of the 150 vendors, and various musical acts. In addition, RMA Kids Space and Project SILK Teen Space hosted youth activities all day!

Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Rachel Levine and former President of Pride of the Greater Lehigh Valley Shawn Bausher opened the festival when they march to the beat of the Philadelphia Freedom Marching Band through the festival grounds before speaking at the Acoustic Stage. Joining them was the Lehigh County Executive Phillips Armstrong and Allentown Mayor Ray O’Connell.
